Science

Today we learned about seeds. Lora came yesterday and today. We played a game about seeds. We had to find out if a seed would survive. It needed several things to grow. Seeds need water to grow. Some of the seeds did not survive. Some seeds explode when they open. Touch me not flowers throw their seeds. If seeds are too close together, they won't grow. Seeds can grow by water. Deer can eat seeds and plants. A coconut is really a fruit. Coconuts have juice inside them. If they are smashed in a flowerbed, they won't grow. You can eat sunflower seeds. We will check on the plants that we planted. Some of the plants have begun to grow.

Hi Mrs.R.'s room.I was excited to read about your seed learning. My class studied seeds last spring. We planted seeds too.We planted marigold flowers.I did not know coconuts are not seeds and their trees do not grow this way.Thank you for sharing that information. I wonder what kind of seed a coconut tree does grow from? I will be waiting to hear how your grass seeds are growing. This blog is short but Destiny just "begged" me to send another message.

Hello 2nd Grade Scholars!
We are Connor's Aunt, Uncle and Cousins from Minnesota. We recently moved from Bellingham, Washington. We are now much closer to you!
Last year Madeline planted Brassica seeds in her second grade class. Sadly, her seeds sprouted, then died. Foutunately for her, Mrs. Geissen, her teacher gave her plants. They were the biggest ones of them all! She liked watching and documenting special things about them.
Another day, I will tell you an old story about Mrs. Riggs! (You are very lucky students to have her as a teacher!) Have fun learning.
