Abraham Lincoln

Today is Lincoln's birthday. He was a good president. When he was at the Ford Theater, he was shot. The Civil War was because of slavery against no slavery. The Southerns had slavery. He was buried in Springfield. He ended slavery. John W. Booth shot Lincoln. In 1850 his son, Eddie, died. Booth was killed by government troops. He was a poor boy that later lived in the White House. Nice job writing about President Lincoln! He was the 16th president of the United States and did a lot of great things for our country.

Cody, did you know that your great-great-great-great Grandmother's sister (Ann Rutledge) was engaged to Abraham Lincoln? Sadly, she died in 1835 before she and Mr. Lincoln could be married. Their story has been passed down through our family and is also found in history books. Lincoln later went on to marry Mary Todd.

Keep up the great work, kids. I enjoy reading your blog entries.
