More Science
Emily brought a big goose neck gourd. It wasn't quite ready to pick. She also brought a bumpy orange one. One gourd was squishy, so it is probably a little spoiled. She also brought a sunflower from her neighbor's garden. We saw a vine and what the gourd looks like in the beginning. Ethan brought Indian corn. Indian corn is all different colors. Now people use Indian corn for fall decorations. He also brought a hedgehog gourd. Austin brought a big zucchini and also helped us spell it correctly. You can eat the flower and zucchini is usually cooked. It is a low calorie vegetable. This zucchini weighs 2 and a half pounds and is 13 inches long.

Sounds like you are learning a lot about plants, how interesting! Cooper's uncle in South Dakota has a huge garden and grows all kinds of plants and flowers.
It sounds like you are learning about all kinds of plants. I'm sure you will learn a lot more. I will be anxious to hear what you learn so perhaps I can improve my gardening skills. Nicole and my pumpkins are taking over our garden this year.

Very interesting, we didn't know you could eat the flower of the zuchini plant. Luke told us about different things he had learned in class when we picked gourds in our garden on Saturday. Thanks for sharing. Mrs. Riggs, how about those Cyclones!
It sounds fun to be learing about plants in science. Nicole's Uncle Jim always has a big garden at our house. The last time Nicole was at our house we gave her a very small miniture pumpkin to take home. Have fun learning about all the plants.
