Eleanor Roosevelt

She was born in New York City in 1884. Her real name was Anna. They called her Eleanor because her mother's name was Anna too. Her father called her little Nell. Little Nell jumped off a boat when she was only two years old. Her father caught her. When she got older she was 5 feet 9 inches tall. Anna liked horses. She even had her own horse. Its name was Captain. Once she went to school in London England at Allenswood. There her friends called her Tottie. Her wedding was on March 7, 1905. Anna's third boy had a weak heart and died shortly after he was born. Later she became First Lady. She had her own newspaper column. It was called My Day. In 1948 she helped write the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. By Emily
